Do I need published clips?
No. The pitch matters more than the portfolio. We are reading for clarity, reasoning, and curiosity - not a list of journalism credentials.
Will I get a byline?
Yes, on work you have substantially reported and written. Research contributions to a larger piece are credited in that piece.
Is this remote?
Yes. Our editorial operation runs remotely, with occasional in-person opportunities in the New York metro area.
What standards will I be held to?
The same standards as everyone else: our editorial standards, corrections policy, contributor guide, and editorial disclaimer.
What if I have a finished story instead?
If you are not seeking an internship but have a story you want to place, use the separate Submit an Article path.
